Some bonds last even past death. And when your soul finds a new life in a new time and new place, you find your heart can feel those bonds. Those bonds don’t fade. Death cannot stop true love; all it can do is delay it for a while. The same is true for family. The perfect family will last for all time. Even if that ‘perfect family’ is perfectly flawed…it’s still perfect. But it can still crumble…and if it crumbles, it must be rebuilt. Souls and hearts will cry out until they are reunited, even if it takes them a hundred life times to achieve. Because everyone wants a family. Everyone wants to belong. And once you find those people that accept you so unconditionally…you will go through all hell to stay with them…

“Have you ever gotten the feeling that something is missing, Pein, dear?” Konan asked suddenly turning from the stove to face her fiancée.

“What do you mean?” Pein asked looking up from the paper he was trying to write for his government class.

Konan sighed a bit and moved the potatoes around the skillet so that they wouldn’t burn. “I don’t know…I just get this feeling that it’s too quiet. Like there should be some more people around, joking and making a huge ruckus. Like back when mom and dad were alive. Things were never quiet…this big house just seems too quiet all the time.”

“You saying you want a kid?” Pein asked completely bewildered.

Konan shot him a look. “Don’t be silly. But it feels like something’s missing.”

“Maybe you’re missing Zetsu.” Pein suggested. The schizophrenic man had recently been re-institutionalized. He wasn’t due to get out for at least a month until this particular episode winded down a bit and he was easier to deal with.

“Maybe…” Konan sighed. “Still…It’s kinda sad to waste all this space, ya know?”

“So what are you saying?” Pein asked curiously.

Konan shrugged and pushed a strand of blue hair behind her ear. “I don’t know…maybe we should rent out some of the extra rooms or something. It’s not like we couldn’t use the money.” The old house, while they didn’t pay mortgage anymore, did take quite a lot of money to keep up. There was always something that needed fixing. Currently the roof needed to be replaced; the gutters could use a redo too.

Pein thought on it for a minute. “I guess we could rent out a few of the rooms…I’ll put an ad in the paper if you want.” He said going back to the paper he was trying to write. Suddenly a blue blur attacked him, nearly knocking him and the chair over. “Ah!”

A girly squeal of delight filled the room. “Thank you, Pein! You won’t regret it! I promise!” Somehow Pein wasn’t so sure about that but on the other hand how much trouble could one or two boarders be in the long run? It wasn’t like he was inviting psychopathic murders to move in with him. Besides Konan seemed to want it and really…he knew he was whipped.
